ARRGGHHH!!!

  • Mood:
I have yet to get really, truly frustrated with the process over at CF.  I've watched others with their struggles, but have always remained on the outer rings, for the most part.

Today, the tides may be shifting.

I received a near-frantic PM from a very nice moderator who asked me to edit a post in which I had linked to my blog; this blog.  This post, to be exact.  I was encouraging a young woman who is struggling with depression by letting her know she doesn't struggle alone.

Apparently, someone has found me to be so offensive that I needed to be reported.

Ok...so I'm offensive.  Perhaps they just can't tolerate Non-Christians.  Maybe they are jealous of the hours of mundane work I put in at CF, where I am a Site Supporter, thereby paying for this nearly-thankless job.  Who knows.  But at any rate, I was reported.

Now, here's the kicker.  The mod that frantically requested my post edit, flat out told me they found nothing wrong with my linking to this blog.  I had BROKEN NO RULES.  Yet, all the same, would I please edit the post before they were "forced" to give me an alert?  (An alert, is apparently the new, kinder, gentler verbiage for "Unofficial Warning").  And this mod was concerned if I didn't change it soon, another mod would come in behind and issue the alert.

Wait just a second here.  If I've broken no rules, why would a mod be forced to give me an alert??  This is the big reform??  What the HELL is going on??

Some Christians are just WAY too sensitive.  GROW UP!!!

There was an alert issued for a friend of mine for posting the following picture:

Now apparently, it's not the bare-nekkid baby bums that are offensive (thank God for that!!) but the fact that this friend doesn't take Easter seriously enough.

WHAT??

For you Stick-In-The-Mud Christians, I say again....GROW THE HELL UP!!

Good-flippin-grief.

THEN...(no, sorry...more to come), and I'm sad to report all this has transpired in a 24 hour period, some other chick on CF is screaming at a member, accusing him/her of stalking.  I know all members involved and this lady really needs to GROW THE HELL UP!!

whew.  ok.  I think I might make it through the day.
4 moans.

*hug* I am sorry someone had to have you edit your link out because they didn't like that you're woman enough to know when you can't handle something all alone.

Hi, I was reading a friend's emails at CF, Lanakila, who used to be a moderator back in 2003, and then became an atheist who now posts at the Internet Infidel's Message Board. She contacted me in 2003 because of my website or book, Leaving the Fold: Testimonies of Former Fundamentatlists. And I found out she had taken a course with Dr. Habermas of Liberty University, whom I had exchanged some letters with on the topic of the resurrection. Anyway, I got involved trying to find a post Lanakila said she remembered adding to CF about her loss of faith, which it seems they may have deleted. How DO you search CF? And while searching for her post, I ran across yours and also noted that you're still with CF since 2003. Thought her name might ring a bell. Send me an email if it does. Thanks.

Lanakila's goodbye at CF was supposed to be here: http://www.christianforums.com/t71095
But I can't find it anymore. Seems it was deleted since she was a Christian moderator of the CF who became an atheist. Oh, I noted that you were having doubts about the O.T. prophecies at that time, studying how they did not fit Jesus in the N.T. Jeffrey Lowder at the Secular Web did a fantastic article on that, The Fabulous Prophecies of the Messiah, and Fiddler Zvi's page on Messiah and Tanakh is also quite wonderful for debunking Christian claims. Even J. P. Holding at Tektonics has backed down, admitting that the N.T. authors employed pesher and midrashic interpretations of verses in the O.T. to try and make their points, points that he admits prove nothing to anyone by today's standards of Biblical interpretation.

Here is where Lanakila's goodbye thread was originally located before it was split out by the CF people:

According to people who viewed it before it was split out, Lanakila made quite an impact on Christian Forums with her announcement. Her goodbye-thread had over 24000 views before they yanked it, apparently mere days before you yourself joined CF.
